There is so much injustice in this world. So many people are oppressed because of their gender, race, sexuality, faith and a thousand other ridiculous reasons. Many of these people are deprived of a voice. They don’t have a chance to tell their story and until they can the world cannot begin to correct the huge wrongs under which they live.

I picked the Africa Proverb for my patch because to me it says it all. Until the voices of the oppressed, the poor and the marginalised are heard, no-one will ever know anything is wrong, because those who are telling the story don’t see the problem.
